Nina Simone
The legendary singer Nina Simone married New York police detective Andrew Stroud in 1961, and they welcomed a daughter named Lisa Simone Kelly. However, after Lisa's birth, Stroud's true nature as a narcissist began to emerge, causing her to suffer from serious mental health issues.
In the early 1970s, Nina was desperate to escape the abusive relationship and decided to leave her daughter with relatives while she relocated to Liberia, Africa. Unfortunately, when Lisa visited her mother in Liberia, she experienced mistreatment, leading her to return to her father's care.
