Naomi Campbell – Then
British model Naomi Campbell was born in London to Jamaican-born dancer Valerie Morris, though she never knew her father. Campbell's modeling career began at the tender age of eight. And she made history in the late 1980s as the first black Supermodel to achieve global acclaim.
While never officially bestowed with the title of a Victoria's Secret Angel, Naomi Campbell left an indelible mark on the VSFS runway, gracing six shows between 1996 and 2005. With characteristic humor, Campbell explained her unofficial status to UK Newspaper The Sun, quipping, "The brand couldn't afford me!"
