WBC President Sheds Light on Why Nobody Wants to Face Tyson Fury in an "Abused Situation"

In a candid revelation, Mauricio Sulaiman, the President of the WBC, has shed light on the challenges faced by Tyson Fury in securing his next opponent. According to Sulaiman, the current predicament arises from certain boxers taking advantage of the situation and inflating their demands. Despite Fury's willingness to face anyone in the ring, Sulaiman lamented that no one seems eager to step up and accept the challenge. In Sulaiman's own words, "Nobody wants to fight Fury." Even in cases where fighters do express interest, they often present specific conditions or demand exorbitant amounts of money that simply cannot be met.

Sulaiman stated that currently, there is a lack of willingness from anyone to engage in a fight with him. Their claims to fight him are contingent on an unrealistic amount of money that is not available, or they have specific conditions they insist on. Sulaiman also remarked on their exploitation of the situation, noting that they have overvalued themselves. In relation to this, Sulaiman brought up the strong belief shared by many that Fury would face off against Oleksandr Usyk in March. Unfortunately, despite his confidence, the anticipated bout did not materialize. Additionally, Sulaiman mentioned the WBC-ordered "final eliminator" match between Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz Jr., which took place seven months ago.
