Ice Bucket Challenge
Some viral videos on the internet don’t stand alone. Instead, they start a larger trend that last for a time. That’s exactly what the Ice Bucket Challenge did.
For a time, it seemed every celebrity or influencer was dousing themselves in ice water. It wasn't without purpose. The challenge was set to raise money for ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease, and Gehrig' worked. By the time the trend started to fade out, the ALS Association raised about $115 million.
