While Annie Mae had stood by her husband's side throughout his imprisonment, their relationship transformed his release, eventually leading to their divorce. Tragically, James Joseph Richardson suffered a heart attack in August 1995, necessitating emergency surgery performed by Dr. Joseph Galichia, which saved his life.
Following his life-saving medical intervention, Richardson assumed a new role as a caretaker at a health resort in Fort Walton Beach, working for Dr. Joseph Galichia. He also embarked on a fresh chapter in his personal life, remarrying and creating a peaceful existence with his new wife, all while pursuing employment in Wichita.
