Some people don’t realize how old these buildings are; of course, they will not be in perfect condition today. There is no logical reason to build a broken house or castle.
These buildings have been through decades of weather, and many have been attacked far back in history. They are a part of history; leave them alone. Nothing lasts forever. Perhaps a little bit of research was needed first.
