While this practice isn't unique to Turkey, it enjoys widespread acceptance among the population. Many apartment dwellers in Turkey cover standard utilities and contribute an extra $25 per month for what's known as "apartment service."
This budget essentially finances essential services such as garbage removal and the maintenance of common areas, including pools, gyms, and saunas. It also encompasses the upkeep of front yards and the repair of hallway lightbulbs.
