A Close Encounter With Justice
Two tourists narrowly avoided serving up to a decade in a Thai prison for spray-painting a brick wall that dates back to the 13th century. The tourists found a can of spray paint on the side of the road in Bangkok after a day of drinking.
In their stupor, they decided it would be a good idea to vandalize the nearest wall. That wall just so happened to be the Tha Pae Gate, which is one of the area's most popular and historic tourist attractions.
