Tourist and Boyfriend Detained
Maj. Jess Baylon, the police chief of the Malay town encompassing Boracay, revealed to the Philippine Daily Inquirer that authorities successfully located the tourist and her boyfriend at a hotel. Subsequently, they were taken into custody, accompanied by a hotel representative, during an incident that unfolded on Thursday evening.
According to Maj. Baylon, the controversial swimwear worn by the tourist, had attracted the attention of numerous residents and fellow tourists on both Wednesday and Thursday, prompting them to capture photographs of her attire. Describing the situation, he noted, "Several residents and tourists took photos of her on Wednesday and Thursday because of what she was wearing—it was literally a string.
