9. A Mix Between Traditional and Modern Elements
Today, most Japanese people do not live in traditional homes. And new apartments have been constructed all the time. While they are not the same as the types of apartments you find in the United States, they will not have everything we mentioned on this list. Nevertheless, even in the newest spaces, they do an excellent job of mixing Western influence, modernity, and tradition. There is a western-style sofa, a Japanese paper door, a tea table, and a Scandinavian style chair in the picture above. And all those styles come together perfectly.
