13. Low Bed

Japanese bed is designed low compared to the floor. This is the same with seats and furniture. People have been sleeping on tatami mats on hardwood floors for many years. Although this might be ideal for straightening out your back, it is not suitable for modern-day people who get used to comfort. Nowadays, Japan typically has followed western-style beds, but they might still be lower to the ground than what you are used to.
