25. F. F. Tomek House
Also known as The House of The Ship, the F. F. Tomek House is an excellent example of the Prairie School style of Frank Lloyd Wright. This house is located in Riverside, Illinois, and was built in 1906. The construction of Wright's Robie House serves as the inspiration and includes furniture designed by himself.
Three floors comprise this building, with a billiards room on the ground floor, where the bedrooms are on the second floor and far smaller than the others on the third floor. The home interior is similar to the Japanese motifs and features a lot of glass art, typical of Wright's designs. In the 1970s, the F. F. Tomek House underwent major renovations and was designated in January 1999 as a National Historic Landmark.
