The Arthur B. Heurtley House was built in 1902 and is in the Oak Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. This house is one of the earliest Prairie Style homes of Frank Lloyd Wright. In some of his most magnificent Prairie Style designs, several patterns appear in the Arthur B. Heurtley House design will reappear.

In the Arthur B. Heurtley Building, Frank Lloyd Wright's focus on a horizontal exterior, wooden siding, and high window bands are present. To render outside access simple, it has a low pitched roof and plenty of balconies and terraces. The unique floor plan is the opposite of a modern two-story American home in that it has top-floor public rooms and lower-down private spaces.
