String lights aren't expensive, but consider getting them when they start the clearing sale after big holidays like Christmas. Stores like Dollar General will be dropping their holiday products price tag to a crazy range of $0.25 each in January. Usually, you can buy brown, green, and white light cords. If you're having a backyard wedding, you may want to purchase these string lights in all three colors, as that means you can string them in multiple places.
