24. Reduce stress level

Gardening is known for stress management. You are taking the time of the day to care for your crops instead of dwelling on work, education, or life problems. In return, you are also taking care of yourself. Just removing yourself from the stressful situation and calmly spending time tending to your garden can focus your mind on more positive thoughts. Instead of focusing on your problems, you are infusing that energy into developing beautiful things.

A study conducted by Wageningen University and the Research Center in the Netherlands looked to see how much gardening reduces stress levels in people. The results were fascinating. For most people, gardening helps reduce stress rather than doing leisurely activities like reading. They also found that after 30 minutes of gardening, those positive stress-relieving benefits started to deteriorate if someone went inside and started reading later.
