A study conducted by Wageningen University and the Research Center in the Netherlands looked to see how much gardening reduces stress levels in people. The results were fascinating. For most people, gardening helps reduce stress rather than doing leisurely activities like reading. They also found that after 30 minutes of gardening, those positive stress-relieving benefits started to deteriorate if someone went inside and started reading later.
