The inspiration behind Edna Mode, the iconic character from "The Incredibles," has remained unconfirmed by the film's director, Brad Bird. This ambiguity has sparked speculation among fans, with two prominent candidates being actress Linda Hunt and costume designer Edith Head.
While Edna's character shares similarities with Hunt in size, facial features, and hairstyle, Edith Head emerges as the most likely source of inspiration. Beyond the striking resemblance, they also share similar professions, sporting round glasses and a bob cut, further fueling the belief that Edith Head was the basis for Edna Mode's character design.
