Determining the Path Forward
Messi's parents, Jorge and Cecelia, were fully committed to supporting their son in overcoming his challenges. They arranged for Messi to receive nightly growth hormone injections, but this soon became financially burdensome, costing them several hundreds of dollars every month.
Initially, Messi's father's health insurance covered the expenses for the first two years of treatment. Additionally, Newell's, the club Messi was associated with at the time, agreed to assist in funding his treatment. However, to their disappointment, the club broke its promise, leaving Messi's parents in a position where they had to find a new club for their son, where he could receive the necessary support.
