Barca’s Decline
Despite Messi's numerous achievements with Barcelona, the club began to decline soon after. In 2019, Messi emerged as the leading goal scorer in the league, with an impressive tally of 36 goals, helping Barca secure another La Liga title. However, in 2020, Real Madrid managed to dethrone Barcelona, snatching away their coveted crown.
To the dismay of fans, the team shockingly failed to clinch any silverware that season. Although Barcelona did manage to win the Copa del Rey the following year, the club found itself grappling with severe financial difficulties. Unbeknownst to Messi at the time, his tenure as a Barcelona player was nearing its conclusion.
