5. Donate or throw items away

Take time to give away one thing a day. If you did that in a year, you could have given away 365 unnecessary things in one year. Then you can increase to 2 or 3 items a day. Gradually, your home will not have leftovers things. To identify clothes you don't wear, hang them with hangers and in the opposite direction. After you wear an item, face it in the proper direction. You will find some clothes in the closet that you haven't used for a long time. Those clothes are your best option to donate to nearby charities.

Try filling the entire trash bag with unwanted things. Work like a competition if you have siblings. Both of you must get a trash bag and start filling it as quickly as possible with the items you plan to donate to the local charity. Anyone who can do it first will get an award!
