2.Babies Just Floating Away
"I used to be a firefighter and an EMT. The dumbest person I saw was a woman of four who thought it would be a great idea to take a Facebook/Instagram-worthy photo of her four children (all under the age of ten) sitting in a rowboat. Mother untied it from the dock, thinking she'd only use the rope to draw them back. That she had forgotten to keep. They swam a half-mile down the river before the two oldest lads grabbed a limb that was dangling over the side.
“Seeing four small children, all dressed in matching outfits, sitting in a boat waiting to be rescued was bizarre. I'm not sure what happened after that, but the kids were physically fine, though a little terrified and exhausted, but the mother was in full panic mode and was getting in our way. I'm hoping she's making wiser decisions now."
