7. Attention Seeking Isn't Always a Good Thing When It Comes to Fire Safety.

“I'm not a firefighter, but my brother's wife used to be one. A significant building fire broke out at a barn in town, causing practically every truck in the vicinity to be dispatched. Because the fire could be seen for miles, this woman would have to be a complete fool. Fast forward to later that night, and one of the ambulances abruptly departs. This is obviously out of the ordinary in this context. As things begin to settle down, one of the initial ambulance's volunteers drives over in his car. He informs them that a woman has called the ambulance and needed assistance with lifting, but he flatly refuses to let the EMTs to assist her. It needs to be a firefighter, no matter what.

My brother's wife joins him to see what's going on. It was the same woman who had repeatedly dialed 911 and was present when they arrived. She was weeping uncontrollably on the floor. EMTs said they can't discover anything wrong with the patient. They are finally able to bring this woman up with the help of her requested firefighter. They begin by asking her what happened in the hopes of eliciting further information from her. 'I was just feeling a little overlooked,' she explained. 'I knew this might pique your interest.' I'm aware that she got in a lot of trouble for abusing 911. But, based on what I've heard from the fire and ambulance departments, she has developed a practice of phoning for assistance whenever she believes she isn't getting enough attention.
