11. Don't Rush
Earlier on this list, I mentioned that many people wish they could do the TV makeover version to style their home. In fact, most of us need to take months or years to style our space. While some of you out there may be frustrated waiting for the perfect home, it's actually much better not to rush the process. Over time, you'll find "perfect" items for your home, instead of trying to buy whatever is cheapest or most convenient at first quickly.
When I thought about what my space looked like a few years ago, it is entirely different from today. However, I see objects that I have gathered for 10 years when I look around. When people see my home, a lot of them think I'm very stylish. The reality is that it didn't happen overnight. I made a lot of errors along the way. I have added and removed objects and furniture in the room until I get it "just right." It looks easy when you spend a lot of time thinking about it.
