6.Sedum
Hardy sedums, a succulent family member, are one-of-a-kind and beautiful addition to any garden. You can see their resemblance to more common succulents like echeveria in their dense, rubbery leaves. Sedum will overwinter as far north as North Dakota, despite its exotic pedigree.
Sedums attract many bees and butterflies, so they're a tremendous drought-tolerant addition to any pollinator garden. They also come in a range of leaf and flower shapes and colors.
