21.Iris
The Iris is one of the few summer perennials with as many color and pattern variations as it does. Irises are easily identified from a distance by their stunning spear-like green leaves, which can grow quite tall. Beautiful bearded flowers in hues ranging from pure white to almost true black soon follow these stems. They also have everything literally in between, except for pure grunge.
Irises grow out beautifully and can be divided in the fall, making room for a big Iris bed! If you have a color scheme in mind, they are also an excellent alternative for weddings.
