While Matt Damon did have a small speaking role in the '80s classic, "Mystic Pizza," his true breakthrough came a decade later in 1997, when he starred in "Good Will Hunting."
Since then, Damon has portrayed numerous iconic characters in various films. He played the apprentice thief in the reboot of "Ocean's Eleven," the undercover mobster in "The Departed," the super agent Jason Bourne in the Bourne series, and the resourceful scientist Mark Watney in the critically acclaimed "The Martian."
