19. Old TVs
Apart from the outdated encyclopedia, old TVs are also not a great idea for the donation pile. Nowadays, everyone uses a flat-screen TV, super thin, replacing the big, bulky televisions. Outdated TVs take up a lot of space on thrift store floors. Most frugal shoppers tend to look for clothes, books, and jewelry and avoid electronic parts. Giving away old TVs adds a lot of work to thrift store workers who have to throw away items they can't sell. Call an electronic recycling center to see if they accept an old TV.
