Thrift shops are not a laundry place to wash dirty clothes. So you shouldn't bring dirty clothes to your local thrift store as they won't accept them. Honestly, dirty and smelly shoes are no more discouraging for donation boxes. Thrift store employees aren't supposed to wash and dry dirty and smelly clothes because it takes a lot of time. In addition, odors can cling to other items, preventing the store from selling them. You should clean your clothes and shoes before taking them to the thrift store. If odors cannot be removed, throw them away.
