15. Hazardous Materials
Giving up hazardous materials to thrift stores has never been a good idea. We cannot accurately identify the ingredients of most of these items, making them unsafe for customers. Cleaning supplies, paints, makeup, and other chemical-based items do not work for economical shopping. Thrift store employees do not train to search for toxic chemicals, either have space for it. Handling hazardous materials takes a lot of time and effort, so try not to give them to your local thrift store. Call a dangerous waste disposal company to see if they will accept your items. Do not spill paint, clean supplies, or other chemicals down the drain!
