Any true film buff knows the profound influence John Carpenter has had on movie history. The mastermind behind classics like Halloween and Escape from New York has always been selective with his projects, but the ones he's taken on have often become iconic hits.
So, it was pretty bizarre when the popular review site Rotten Tomatoes mistakenly announced that Carpenter had passed away. In classic Carpenter fashion, the legendary director himself responded to the tweet, humorously confirming that he was very much still alive!
