10. You Don't Want to Be Wasteful
Some people want to keep everything for the sake of not wasting it. You do not want their old belongings in the landfill. This is a good thought, but it is not always practical. Although you may feel guilty about throwing something away, you shouldn't keep things that are no longer useful. Sometimes it can be used again (like cleaning a dirty pair of sneakers), but there are items you need to be thrown away.
If something is important to you, invest in something more expensive. And higher quality. For example, if you buy a Le Creuset frying pan, it will probably last you a lifetime. But if you continuously buy cheap frying pots from a warped dollar store and get scratched with their nonstick layer, you can't use it anymore. The same goes for clothes. Cheap items from places like H&M and Forever 21 can only be worn a few times before you are.
