An Exception to the Rule
In the vast majority of cases, kidnapping is unquestionably wrong, with a 99.9% consensus. However, there exists a small margin for exceptions, and in this peculiar case, 'catnapping' was humorously deemed the morally sound choice. While we don't endorse illegal behavior, we also find ourselves not entirely opposed to the actions taken by the OP.
The Golden Rule for pet ownership could have averted the entire mess — if one cannot responsibly care for a pet, opting for a Tamagotchi might be the wiser choice.
