Depending on which blog you read, people seem to disagree on the next issue. Some people agree that spending a lot of money on dining room chairs is a good idea, while others believe it is better to save. They, in my opinion, belong in the "save" category. The majority of people who have a formal dining room do not sit in such chairs very much. They are only seen for special occasions, such as Thanksgiving. So, in my opinion, it doesn't matter if they are the most comfortable chairs on the planet. If you use your dining room table as a regular eating or work-from-home space, however, I would recommend investing in better chairs.
Another excuse to buy these chairs at a discount is that they are easy to come by in thrift and antique shops. Some people like the concept of mixing and matching chair types, which removes the need to find a perfectly suited set. It can be fantastic to go on a hunt for a specific type of wooden chair at auctions, yard sales, and the Facebook marketplace if you have a particular style in mind. Doing something like this over time will save you hundreds of dollars.
