14. Spend a lot of money on ceiling light fixtures
Light fixtures are identical to works of art. When you step into a room, they are one of the first things people notice. As a result, you might as well give them something lovely to look at it. The lighting of the room may also have a significant impact on your mood. When the lighting is too dim, it looks gloomy. Yes, buying a friendly light fixture can be very expensive. It is, however, typically less costly than you think. You can buy two almost identical fixtures from two separate stores for $100 each and $500 each. Hence, always do your homework before making a purchase.
I believe that your home should represent your interests rather than thinking about what others may think. However, part of the fun of decorating your home is anticipating visitors. Your visitors will subconsciously assess the rest of the space based on how these light fixtures appear. For example, I had a very generic light fixture from Home Depot for the majority of my life. Whenever I walked into a house with the same light fixture, I could not help but think they got it on clearance for $10. Do you want them to believe that? Or do you want people to say, “Wow, the light in the room looks amazing?”
