Step 8: Pin the fabric to the piece you are wrapping
Once you've got the cushion in place, you'll put your fabric on top and flip the chair over to start pinning the fabric to the seat. You will want to pull tight, but not tight enough to create problems with your material. Holding the first pin can be a challenge as you try to keep the other edges from being too short around the seat.
When you fix the first pin, you will want to be about 1/2 inch from the wood's edge. Each time you pin along the first side, you will lift the fabric tightly. Try to keep the pins as evenly as possible, as this will help you keep the fabric even on all sides of the chair. Another trick is to lift the opposite side of the material while pulling the stapling side.
