Owen Hunt joined Seattle Grace as head of trauma surgery after serving overseas. His unstable personality and relationship with Cristina Yang created an intriguing story arc, ending when she left for Switzerland.
Owen then dated Amelia but had an affair with Teddy, leading to a pregnancy. After Amelia's brain tumor diagnosis, they divorced. Owen adopted a baby from a teenage substance abuser, and Teddy had their daughter, Alison. Eventually, Owen and Teddy reunited and got married.
