#31: Weddings Shouldn’t Put You in Financial Ruin
Weddings have always carried a sense of celebration, but somewhere along the line, the price tag skyrocketed into something almost unbelievable. In the US especially, hosting a wedding can easily exceed $20,000 — an amount that could otherwise fund a year of rent, student loan payments, or a large chunk of debt repayment.

Yet people continue to pour huge sums into dresses, decor, venues, catering, and entertainment simply because society has normalized the extravagance. Maybe it’s time we pause and ask ourselves why a joyful event has turned into a financial burden. When did a commitment between two people become a luxury business?
