#13: The Pressure on Everyday Consumers
We’ve only recently begun acknowledging just how badly the planet’s resources have been mismanaged. For years, individuals were blamed for environmental decline, urged to change small habits while the real damage came from corporations with far bigger footprints.

Of course, personal responsibility matters — choosing greener products, reducing waste, and being mindful of what we use does help. But unless large companies commit to meaningful change, individual effort can only go so far. A reusable straw can’t compete with industrial-scale waste, and it’s time we stop pretending otherwise.
