Being overconfident is something young people often get accused of, and perhaps there is some truth to it. Not that believing in yourself is a bad thing. Just don't take it too far, like this person did.
Syntax error, of course, means you have asked the calculator to do something that makes no sense. So the correct response should be to redo the calculation, and if it still shows syntax error – start freaking out because you have no idea what you're doing.
