There are certain things that athletes do for each other as friends both on and off the court, just like anybody else. This pair might have taken things a little far this time.
The reality behind this shot is probably the other player jumping up to take the ball from the other player and simply missing. However, it just so happens that this person happened to hit the other player in the face, so it looks like he’s picking his nose.
