Bear in mind that surfboards are typically costly, but on Craigslist, you should find them used as well.
You should consider taking lessons if you will go through the trouble of purchasing a surfboard. They are not too expensive, and people can learn to surf of any age. It can be a fantastic workout, and you can say "yes!" when people ask if you surf."
