Papa Smurf

Paul Karason, affectionately nicknamed Papa Smurf due to his distinctive blue complexion, did not naturally possess the skin tone that brought him widespread recognition. Instead, his blue skin was the unintended consequence of consuming colloidal silver as a remedy for his skin condition.

The silver present in the medication reacted with sunlight, leading to a condition known as argyria, characterized by a bluish tint to the skin. Despite this development, Karason remained resolute in his use of colloidal silver. He persisted in ingesting silver until his passing, firmly convinced that it held the key to alleviating his acid reflux, arthritis, and various other ailments.
