Malaysia: The Home of Medicinal Plants

Malaysia is renowned as the home of diverse plant species, particularly in its evergreen rainforests. It is estimated that Malaysia possesses over 1,000 plant species with medicinal properties that treat various ailments ranging from headaches to malaria and cholera. 

Among these plants, the Bintangor trees (Calophyllum lanigerum var. austrocoriaceum), found exclusively in Sarawak, are believed to have properties that could potentially aid HIV treatment.
