Controlled Elections
While the notion of elections in North Korea might seem surprising to many, they do indeed occur. Occurring every five years, these elections pertain to the parliament. However, these elections are meticulously orchestrated.
Each electoral district is allowed a solitary candidate personally selected by the leader. Additional measures include mandatory voting, and those who opt to cast their vote for a different candidate must do so openly.
