At the inaugural American Cup held at New York's iconic Madison Square Garden, she won an individual silver medal. During the medal ceremony, a photographer had a spontaneous idea: to capture a moment where the 18-year-old American gymnast beside her, Bart Conner, would kiss the young Romanian athlete.
