29. A method of staying hydrated
For nearly two years, I worked in hospital administration. I decided to take a break from working on anything and go down to the cafeteria to get something to eat instead of looking at figures.
While she was there, a woman was talking on the phone with someone about how she continued drinking the night before procedures to settle her anxiety and how she thought it was ludicrous that the doctors couldn't/ wouldn't just pump her stomach and start the surgery.
Now, I don't know all of the details about what she was getting done, and I wasn't present for her alleged diatribe against our doctors while she was getting ready for whatever it was she required, but I'm glad I wasn't. She went on for another minute or so with her friend, fully oblivious to how stupid she sounded.
