Where is Terrance Howard?
Following the massive success of the first Iron Man film, the studio decided to give Robert Downey Jr. a substantial raise for reprising his role in the sequel, Iron Man 2. However, this increase in RDJ's salary came at the expense of Terrence Howard's reduced salary. This did not sit well with the actor from "Hustle & Flow," leading him to walk away from the set and never return.
Since the sequel required the character of Rhodey, the studio replaced Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle, who looks significantly different from Terrence. Despite the change, many fans appreciated Don Cheadle's portrayal of War Machine. Terrence Howard's departure paved the way for Don Cheadle to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
