Michael Jackson's iconic California property, Neverland Ranch, is well-known to almost everyone. It is a sprawling estate with an amusement park. He had his zoo and lived in a mansion on the site with six beds. A Peter Pan theme runs throughout the house, and Jackson claims that he designed this children's paradise because he didn't want to grow up.
The event, however, made Jackson feel "violated," so he chose to vacate the home and never return. In 2006, he sacked the whole team responsible for the house's upkeep. He passed away in 2009, and the place sat empty until 2015. The Jackson home asked an absurd figure of $100 million when it originally went on the market. It came as no surprise that no one wanted to buy it. A millionaire called Ron Burkle purchased the house for $22 million five years later because he planned to develop the area.
