This next abandoned house is unlike any of the ones mentioned on this list thus far. The geometric treehouse “Casa Sperimentale” is located near Fergene, Italy. This is a coastal village just outside of Rome that looks entirely out of place, like a spaceship crashing into the trees. Guiseppe Perugini, an architect, designed this in the 1960s. The only entry into the house is through a scarlet staircase that also serves as a drawbridge over their pool.

It was supposed to be Perugini's family's vacation home. The house, however, was abandoned after the architect died, and it has since begun to fall into disrepair. Graffiti has been sprayed on the walls, and plants are sprouting from the concrete.
