Sourdough bread made from fermented dough is particularly cherished by Russians, and as a result, it can be found extensively throughout the country. Russians often utilize a beer or kvas base, yeast, or a portion of old dough as a starter, which imparts a distinct sour taste.
The photo shows this pigeon's fondness for the beloved national bread. The pigeon has pecked through a slice and now adorns it around its neck as an unexpected accessory. We can only hope the bread was not too heavy when the pigeon spread its wings to take flight.
