Joan Rivers

Johnny Carson served as the host of The Tonight Show for an impressive span of 30 years. Notably, the bold and audacious comedian Joan Rivers often filled in as a guest host, and Johnny held a deep affection for her. However, their friendship took a hit when Fox offered Joan Rivers her late-night show, The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers, which aired simultaneously with Johnny's show. This development left Johnny devastated.

Due to this situation, Johnny Carson imposed an embargo on Joan Rivers and chose not to communicate with her again until his passing. This ban persisted even during Jay Leno's time as the host of The Tonight Show. Sadly, Joan Rivers passed away in 2014.
